About the Artwork
Figurines - "This painting is part of a body of work that looks at the interplay of mid-winter light on objects from my collection. It takes its name from the figure depicted in the painting. It is one of Royal Doulton’s most popular figurines first produced in 1937. This one was made to celebrate Australia’s Bicentennial in 1988 and is in a green and gold colourway. It belonged to my mother-in-law who was an elegant woman exuding style and grace, much like the figurine. Sadly no longer with us." Designed by John Klein.
